Q: Is your jewelry made in America?

A: Oh, the good old US of A. I take pride in supporting our country. Every piece of jewelry that makes up Black Sparrow is made in the US out of products of the US. What does that mean? Did you know that as long as products are assembled in the US they can be classified as "made in America"? That means that companies can buy all of their parts from countries like China, ship them to America to have them assembled into the finished product and (voila!) they have "American made" products.

I, however, am dedicated to the true meaning of American made. Every single piece of Black Sparrow Jewelry is made in America- from conception to finished product. And as you may know, each piece is handmade, curated by yours truly and never mass-produced.

I have been dedicated to ensuring that Black Sparrow embodies the true meaning of American made since its conception in 2009.

Q: What do you mean when you say your jewelry is cast from "natural findings"?

A: Natural findings are pieces of nature that have been collected from their natural state. Whether I've discovered a long-lost tooth out on a nature trail or I'm collecting pieces from old museum collections, I am always conscience about how the findings were collected. Under no circumstance do we cast jewelry from a finding that was collected by ending an animal's life.

For instance, the Red-Tailed Hawk claw was cast from a hawk that was sadly killed by a car. Instead of dying in vain we get to use the claw to raise awareness and funds to help birds of prey who live in sanctuaries and are in need of long-term care.

Q: What is your jewelry made out of?

A: All of the charms and pendants are made from solid bronze. We use variations of white bronze (silver) and yellow bronze (gold). By casting in solid metals we can provide you with high quality pieces that don't flake, unnaturally tarnish or break. The pieces are as solid as a rock and will last you for many years to come.

The chains, clasps and wires are either gold-plated, silver plated or sterling silver.

Q: How long will it take my order to ship?

A: Typically your order will ship within 1-2 business days. Sometimes there is the possibility that your order could take up to a week to ship because each piece is made by hand for each of our customers, but if you need your purchase ASAP you can make a note of it in the comments during checkout and we'll rush your order out the door.

Q: Do you donate to any organizations?

A: Yes we do! I have dedicated Black Sparrow to the mission of helping animals in need and YOU have the control over who we donate to! Visit the Giving Back page on our site. There you can scroll through the sanctuaries, organizations and rescues we partner with. When you place your order enter the designated [coupon] code for the organization you would like us to donate to on your behalf.

Q: The item I want is out of stock. Will you be making more?

A: Each year I retire pieces and introduce new ones. Some items that you see out of stock are being retired. Others are simply sold out and more are being cast in my studio as we speak. If you have a question about a particular piece of jewelry you can email us at hello@blacksparrowjewelry.com.

Q: How do I track my order?

A: When your order is fulfilled and on its way to you, you will receive an email with a tracking number. A link will lead you to the up-to-date tracking information. From there you can excitedly watch your package's journey to your doorstep.

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Yes, we ship worldwide.

Q: What is your return policy?

A: If you are not entirely satisfied with your order you can return it for exchange. Once your order is placed we donate to an organization on your behalf, so for that reason we only offer merchandise exchanges. We want you to be 100% happy with your order so feel free to contact us if there is any issue.
